The Henker Group, a marketing and public relations agency based in Easton, Md., has announced that it will work with the Baltimore Metropolitan Council to promote the Teleworkbaltimore.com program. The Baltimore Metropolitan Council is a private nonprofit organization committed to identifying regional interests and developing collaborative strategies through plans and programs to improve the quality of life and economic vitality throughout the region. Teleworkbaltimore.com is a partnership between the Baltimore Metropolitan Council and the Maryland Department of Transportation with a goal of reducing traffic congestion and air pollution in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties by helping employers realize the benefits of a formal telework program.
The Henker Group will provide Teleworkbaltimore.com with extensive communications and marketing consulting services to present a comprehensive marketing and public relations campaign to promote the program throughout Baltimore City and its five surrounding counties. The purpose will be to foster greater use and understanding of telework by employers in the region. Projects include enhancing the TeleworkBaltimore.com website, devising marketing strategies for the campaign, developing performance measures, placing stories about the program in targeted media and designing and placing advertisements.
“Formal telework programs can be so beneficial to businesses, and they improve air quality due to the reduced vehicle traffic. It is imperative we get the word out to businesses about Teleworkbaltimore.com’s multi-level positive impact in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties through a professional and effective marketing campaign,” Russ Ulrich, Outreach Coordinator, Air Quality & Traffic Safety Programs said.
“We look forward to developing a creative marketing and communications strategy for the Baltimore Metropolitan Council to increase the awareness of Teleworkbaltimore.com. The group does great work for the region, and the Council’s staff is highly committed to the purpose of the program,” said The Henker Group President, Mary Ann Henker, who was recently accepted as a member to the Network of Entrepreneurial Women Worldwide.
