The Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services announced today that three full scale fire service exercises will be conducted during the first week of October. Not coincidentally, this week is recognized across the nation as “Fire Prevention Week”. The exercises will be held on October 3, 9, and 10.
Representatives from all nine Volunteer Fire Departments worked together with the County Emergency Management Division to develop a realistic scenario that could happen on any given day.
The same exercise will be conducted three different times at three different locations so that all companies would have the opportunity to participate.
This will be a great opportunity for the citizens of Queen Anne’s County to see their Volunteer Fire Departments in action in the community. These exercises were made possible through a hazardous materials planning and training grant.
The dates and locations of the exercises are as follows: October 3, 2010: 8:30 AM at 200 Terrapin Grove in Stevensville, October 9, 2010: 8:30 AM at 601 Foxxtown Drive in Sudlersville, and October 10, 2010: 8:30 AM at 104 Symphony Way in Centreville.
