“Dracula is Dead” Authors at Library
On Thursday, October 11, at 5:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, former U.S. Ambassador Jim Rosapepe and his wife, former ABC news correspondent Sheilah Kast, will talk about Romania and their book, “Dracula is Dead: How Romanians Survived Communism, Ended It, and Emerged Since 1989 as the New Italy.”

Rosapepe served as the United States ambassador to Romania from 1998 – 2001; he is currently serving his second term in the Maryland State Senate representing Maryland’s 21st District. Kast lived and worked in Romania for three years and has returned to the country many times over the past twenty years. Columnist and senior political analyst Cokie Roberts had this to say about Kast and Rosapepe’s book: “With the eye of the journalist and the ear of the politician, Sheilah Kast and Jim Rosapepe make their Romanian experience so absorbing that you’ll want to jump on the next plane to go see for yourself. But I refuse to believe that Dracula is really dead.”

There will be a book-signing after the talk. All library programs are free and open to the public. Patrons do not need to pre-register for this program. For more information, call the library at 410-822-1626, or visit www.tcfl.org.
