Captain Shinypants to Visit St. Michaels Library
On Tuesday, August 2, at 2:00 p.m., award-winning singer-songwriter John Hadfield will bring his celebrated performance of Captain Shinypants to the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library. The eccentric Captain Shinypants travels the globe in his Bookmobile Submarine sharing a message of concern for our friends and the environment.

After spending three years with the White House Communications Agency, working and travelling with the President, John Hadfield ran off to join the circus. He attended the prestigious Ringling Bros. Clown College and toured for two years with the Royal Lichtenstein Circus. He has won 5 Children’s Music Web Awards, acted in films and commercials, and travelled the world as a juggler and clown.

Exploring Ecology at the Easton Library
On Thursday, August 4, at 10:30 a.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, children aged 7 and up are invited to explore ecology with an educator from the 4-H program, University of Maryland Extension, Talbot County. Among other activities, children will get to handle and dissect real owl pellets.
