St. Michaels to Show “Cars 2”
On Monday, July 9, at noon, the St. Michaels Branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a free showing of “Cars 2.” Nominated for a Golden Globe and rated G, “Cars 2” was released in 2011. Among the stars voicing the film are Michael Caine and Owen Wilson. All library programs are free and open to the public, so bring your lunch and enjoy a movie on the library’s large screen. St. Michaels Library to Offer Science Camps
This July the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer science camps for several different age groups. On July 10 and 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., children entering grades 5 – 8 can attend their own Science Camp. Among their adventures, these campers will learn about the differences between solids and liquids, what makes a polymer, and what makes an electrical circuit. On July 24 – 26, from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., children entering grades 1 and 2 can attend the Wonders of Science Camp. These campers will explore pond life using a computer microscope, learn about the life cycles of frogs, and create their own “Investigation Kit.” On July 24 – 27, from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., children entering grades 3 and 4 can attend the Wonders of the Chesapeake Bay Science Camp. These campers will learn about the minute organisms living in the Bay, learn something of its geological history, and, in turn, the processes that shape our planet. Summer Crafts at St. Michaels Library
On Wednesday, July 11, at 3:00 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a program of summer craft-making for the entire family. Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre Brings “Puss in Boots” to Library
On Friday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, the Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre will offer a free performance of “Puss in Boots.” Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre productions feature broad, physical humor, fast-paced action, and clever dialogue; they are enjoyed by audiences of all ages. In “Puss in Boots,” a clever and fashion-conscious feline helps the poor miller’s son find a missing crown, rid the land of a grumpy ogre, and win the hand of the beautiful princess. Free tickets are required to attend this play and will become available at the library on Friday, July 6. The Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre performance of “Puss in Boots” is sponsored in part by the Talbot County Arts Council, with funds from the Talbot County Council.
