Talbot County Free Library Foundation Offers $1000 Prize in Logo Contest

The Talbot County Free Library Foundation announced today that it will award $1,000 to the winner of a contest to design an original logo that visually brands and identifies the Foundation and its work in support of the library.  Jean Greenlee, chair of the Foundation Board, said, “Those of us on the Board believe a good library is essential to the economic health of the community it serves.  It is our hope that the winning logo design in this contest will visually convey the importance of our mission to make sure our library and our community thrive.”

The winning logo design will reflect the Foundation’s mission: “Through responsible fund-raising, advocacy, and the prudent stewardship of gifts, the Talbot County Free Library Foundation enables the library to support a thriving community.”  The logo will be employed in signage, for the Foundation’s Internet and social media presence, in documents and publications, and in any other place the Foundation has a need to brand or promote its efforts on behalf of the library.

Individuals or teams may submit up to three entries.  The creator(s) of the winning entry will receive the $1,000 cash prize, recognition in the media, a certificate commemorating the award, the right to be identified as the logo’s designer(s), and the right to include the logo design in their portfolio.  Employees, directors or other representatives of the Talbot County Free Library Foundation or the Talbot County Free Library, and any persons domiciled with any such employees, directors or other representatives, are not eligible to enter or to win.

Detailed competition rules, specifications, and entry forms may be found on the library’s website at: http://www.tcfl.org/events/logocontest.html/.  Logo designs must be submitted as specified in the contest rules no later than September 30, 2018.  The Foundation’s Board of Directors plans to select the winning entry at its meeting on October 18, 2018.
