Talbot Interfaith Shelter

Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) opened its doors for the fifth season on December 2, and accepted a generous $1,500 donation from Wells Fargo.

The donation kicks off TIS’s annual appeal for community support, as the organization looks toward expansion. The shelter is currently at capacity and it has just opened for the season.

Since 2008, more than 400 volunteers have worked together to keep neighbors off the streets and in warm beds during the winter. A cold-weather shelter, TIS is open from December through March and rotates among host sites in the faith community.

TIS is a voluntary service organization dedicated to providing safe, temporary shelter to men, women, and children who lack adequate housing, providing guests with assistance to help them become independent, and raising awareness of the issues of homelessness in our community.  The work that TIS provides is made possible by the generous support of individuals and businesses.

More information about TIS is available online at www.talbotinterfaithshelter.org.
