Join Tommy Cathers for a discussion on the origin of the art of tattooing and its progression to American culture on Friday, February 1 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council’s Centre for the Arts. The history of tattoos and shift in their acceptance as a popular form of body art is a compelling one and yields information about cultural norms and artistry. Cathers will offer a demonstration with a question and answer session.
Cathers is an award-winning artist of tattoo and body art and also works as a freelance artist for airbrush work including murals and children’s rooms. He is also the owner of “Island Ink” located in Grasonville, which specializes in tattoos and piercings of all styles.
