The Country School Presents Second Annual Student Science Symposium

The Country School recently held its second annual student science symposium. All Upper School students, grades 6-8, presented one of their science projects they completed this school year.

The event, which took place in late April, served as an opportunity for students to showcase some of their creative and compelling work. It was also a chance for parents and younger students to preview the Upper School science program.

“The science symposium was very successful this year. I was pleased with the variety and rigor of topics chosen by students,” Upper School Head John Melton remarked. “In total 56 students each presented a project, which ranged in subjects from natural disasters to scientific laws. All presentations were very impressive.”

Headmaster Neil Mufson remarked, “Last year we made a commitment to holding a science symposium. Due to the success of that first science symposium, we looked forward to holding our second one this year. The breadth and depth of presentations this year were equally as impressive and it’s a wonderful opportunity for Lower School students to see what they have to look forward to in The Country School’s Upper School science program. We look forward to holding an annual science symposium each year in the future.”
