The CREB Conservancy strives to provide education, outreach, and restoration programs that promote environmental awareness of the essential roles rivers and streams play in the community, of the issues that threaten their health and vitality, and of the solutions that must be implemented to preserve them.
Nov. 5 – Jacques Baker – “Gilbert Byron, A Life Worth Examining”
Jacques Baker -“Gilbert Byron, A Life Worth Examining.” Mr. Baker will speak about the life and major work of this Eastern Shore writer. Born in Chestertown, Byron published 14 books, more that 70 short stories, and hundreds of articles and poems during his lifetime. Byron shares his July 12 birth date with Henry David Thoreau; this coincidence influenced not only his writing, but his unique lifestyle as well.
