The Oxford Farmers Market Returns to OCC June 28th

Oxford, MD – In years past, there used to be a vibrant farmers market full of vendors and fresh produce. By popular demand, it returns to the Oxford Community Center June 28th from 2:30-5:30 PM.  Every Friday, weather permitting, the front lawn of the center will be bustling with fresh finds once again. Perfect for residents, weekenders, and visitors alike, there will always be something wonderful to discover at the “new” farmers market on Fridays.

The wonderful women of the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary brought the idea back to life with the pure goodness of their baked goods.  So many people wanted to be able to find those pies, cakes, treats of all kinds, that having a marketplace at the OCC made sense. They will be there every week with offerings as well as taking orders for future Friday pick-ups.

The fresh produce will be supplied by Taylor’s Produce, a family run farm from Preston that has the wonderful trailer full of produce all summer long on Oxford Road. Friday’s they will have their produce at OCC to add the color and fresh “farm to table” products to the marketplace.

The Robert Morris Inn’s Chef Mark Salter will have his products available for sale, along with the following list of vendors:

Bob Rich’s Knife Sharpening, Baylight Candles, Paula van Valkenburgh’s pottery, The Ruffled Duck with pastries and lemonade, The John Wesley Preservation Society with treats and treasures, jewelry by the Shabby Mermaid, and more.

If you are a vendor associated with Oxford, please reach out to the community center at 410-226-5904. There is no fee to join the farmers market. Each week we will offer a cash bar featuring craft beers by Kelly Distributors and taste new wines. There will be an open mic, so come sing, tell a story, practice some jokes, enjoy your time together at the community center.
