Untitled1The Queen Anne’s Chorale is pleased to announce the program for its 2014-2015 concert season.

Rehearsals for the Chorale will begin on September 8, 2014 and are regularly held each Monday from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at the Centreville United Methodist Church on Rt. 213 in Centreville, MD.  This will also be an “open” rehearsal for new member recruitment, and prospective singers should arrive at 6:30 for a brief orientation.  No audition is required and singers of all levels and parts are invited to attend.  A short reception will follow the rehearsal.

It is important to note that no new singers will be accepted for the fall semester after this “open” rehearsal.

Artistic director, Mr. Robert Huntington, begins his 12th year directing the 60+ voice singing ensemble.  Because of Mr. Huntington’s carefully chosen repertoire and creative programming, the Chorale continues to “engage, entertain, and educate” audiences at each concert it presents.  Accompanist, Cindy Bidinotto-Slate brings another high level of expertise to the Chorale’s successful performances as well.

The Chorale will present one concert during the Holiday Season and one performance in the spring.

To launch the Christmas season, The Chorale will present its ever popularHoliday Concert.  This year’s performance is entitled “A Mostly Baroque Christmas“.  Seasonal works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, and Telemann will be accompanied by chamber orchestra, which will also perform the beloved, “Canon” by Pachelbel.  Of course no Christmas concert would be complete without the traditional audience sing-along on familiar carols.

Date:        Saturday, December 6, 2014, 7:00 p.m.

Location: The Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, MD

In April, the Chorale will present its traditional gala entitled, “The Glory of Love”.  This romantic, whimsical, and sentimental concert will explore the many moods of love in a program that will feature Brahms’ “Love-Song Waltzes” (op.52).

Date:   Saturday, April 18, 2015, 7:00 p.m.

Location:  The Todd Performing Arts Center, Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, MD

In keeping with the Chorale’s mission statement of “presenting quality music to the community at large”, mini-concerts are planned throughout the year.
