QA1The Queen Anne’s County Farm Bureau endorsed Jim Moran and Fred McNeil for County Commissioner for the At Large and District 2 race respectively at their September Board of Directors meeting.

According to President Bob Arnold, “It is imperative that our County Commissioners both share a vision of Queen Anne’s remaining a largely agricultural landscape and understand that keeping farming economically viable is the only way to achieve that goal.”

Jim Moran’s positions on issues of importance to farmers shows us that he understands the real issues facing farmers are the same as all businesses – limiting overbearing government regulations, protecting private property rights, maintaining and growing viable markets, and promoting conservative fiscal policies that keep taxes low. His leadership in directing the County towards meeting its EPA mandated environmental requirements without burdening farmers or taxpayers prove to us that he is the right person for the job. The re-election of Commissioner Moran should be a top priority for keeping QAC moving forward while protecting farming and the environment.

Fred McNeil has served the County in many roles over his long career in Queen Anne’s County public education. In stark contrast to his opponent, Mr. McNeil recognizes the sacrifices farmers have already made to achieve remarkable environmental progress toward water quality improvement and their role as stewards of the land. Mr. McNeil’s understanding of the realities on the ground, and his honesty and integrity make him the clear choice for Queen Anne’s County in District 2. We believe him to be a strong voice in support of QAC’s farming economy, and the right leader to steer it through the next 4 years.

The Queen Anne’s County Farm Bureau is a non-partisan organization and endorses those candidates who we believe will serve the County best, regardless of political affiliation.
