The Queen Anne’s County Farm Bureau recently announced its recommendations for the June County Commissioner Primary Election
The Queen Anne’s County Farm Bureau recently announced recommendations to their membership for the June County Commissioner Primary Election. Recommendations were limited to contested races and are for the primary only.
After sending out an extensive questionnaire to all 15 County Commissioner candidates, the Board of Directors held a special meeting to review the candidates responses along with historical actions, public statements, and website content to determine which candidates represent the best choices to take care of the interests of farmers and the County as a whole during the next 4 years.
“If Queen Anne’s County is to maintain our rural character”, said Bob Arnold, president of QACFB, “we need to assure farms remain economically viable and our economy expanding. The challenges facing farmers and the taxpayers of the County as a whole are complex and the Board believed that certain candidates have a much better understanding of the issues than others.”
The QACFB recommends to its members and other concerned citizens that they vote for Gene Legg in District One, although it was recognized that Paul Comfort has an extremely strong background to qualify him to serve. The Board recommended Tim McCluskey in District Two, Phil Dumenil in District Three, and Dave Olds in District 4.
The QACFB commends all candidates for their efforts in running for public office and appreciates the efforts and time the candidates put forth to respond to our questionnaire. We also encourage all citizens to exercise their right to vote in the June Primary.
