~Maryland-based retailer of hand-dyed luxury yarns to hold exclusive international open house

The Verdant Gryphon, a Maryland-based retailer of hand-dyed luxury yarns, recently announced that it will hold its Third Annual Open House event on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at The Verdant Gryphon studio, located at 7923 B Industrial Park Road in Easton, Md.

The Open House will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include light refreshments, music, knitting, custom dyeing, special vendors, a knitwear fashion show, and open shopping. All base yarns, including Codex, Mithril and Mondegreen, will be available by the skein, ranging in price from $22.80 to $32.00. There will be a total of two to four dozen colors available. A group knitting session is planned for Sunday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at a popular local coffee shop, Rise Up Coffee. Events both days are free to the public.

“Since we are an online retailer, this event provides a special chance for attendees from around the world to feel the yarns and see the true colors in person,” Owner Gryphon Corpus said, “and of course, to meet and connect with other members of the large knitting community.”

The Verdant Gryphon has reserved a limited number of rooms at Easton hotels the Tidewater Inn and the Holiday Inn Express for Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2. To obtain the group rate, rooms must be reserved by Oct. 1 using the group name “yarn open house.”

“This is also great opportunity for those who want more exposure or to become more involved in the fiber arts,” Corpus said. “We are so excited once again to welcome the vibrant knitting community to our studio.”

Event attendees may also participate in a hat-knitting relay race. All hats produced from the relay will be donated to the Requard Radiation Oncology Center of the Shore Regional Cancer Center located in Easton, Md.
