On September 3, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack responded to the area of Maryland Route 213 and Princess Anne Drive in Queen Anne’s County for a two vehicle collision. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Mitsubishi Pickup Truck driven by Alexander Gish, 64, of Chestertown was traveling northbound on Maryland Route 213. As Gish approached Princess Anne Drive, a 2009 Ford Escape operated by Samuel Wiemer, Jr., 87, also of Chestertown, pulled from Princess Anne Drive onto Maryland Route 213 travelling southbound. As Weimer attempted to turn left onto Route 213, it was struck on the driver’s side by Gish, causing it to overturn and roll to the southbound shoulder of Maryland Route 213. Weimer and his wife were transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 6. Gish was transported to Chester River Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
