The speaker for the October critique meeting of the Tidewater Camera Club is Vickie Gray. Join us on Monday October 6, 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Easton Md. Vickie will critique photos submitted by members, based on the September meeting assignment.
Join our members as Vickie reviews these photos, come early after 6:15pm for conversation with fellow photographers.
The Art and Business of Headshot Photography will be the topic Vickie will critiquing. A great headshot is the workhorse of the photography world. It must communicate your trustworthiness, competence, professionalism, and success. Join us as Vickie Gray presents an overview of the headshot industry, and describes how she creates authentic, memorable, high-end headshots. Vickie will share her headshot techniques, including:
• tips on hair, makeup and wardrobe;
• posing direction and expression coaching;
• photo review and selection via tethered capture on her iPad; and
• basic retouching protocols for both volume and individual headshot sessions, using traditional Adobe products Lightroom and Photoshop along with AI-assisted programs like Evoto.
She will offer pointers on how to improve your own headshot photography, whether you are taking a casual headshot for a friend or family member or offering headshots as part of your photography services.
Vickie Gray is Baltimore’s premier headshot photographer. She operates an 1100 square foot studio in the historic Meadow Mill complex in north Baltimore. Prior to embarking on her photography career she spent over 25 years as a legal marketer, managing the reputation, brand and external image of high-profile law firms in DC, Philadelphia, NYC and Miami. She has been named one of Baltimore’s “Top Portrait Photographers” since 2019 by Expertise.com; “Baltimore’s Best Portrait Photographers” by Giggster.com; and one of Baltimore’s “Top Fashion Photographers” by Peerspace.
