Town of Centreville Celebrates New Millstream Park Playground

The Town Council of Centreville announces a celebration of the newly refurbished Millstream Park Playground on May 29, 2010.

Join the Town Council of Centreville, the Centreville Park Advisory Board, and others for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30pm on Saturday, May 29th, to celebrate the brand new playground equipment. The fun starts at 1:00pm and continues until 3:00pm, but feel free to stay and enjoy the park thereafter. Shuttle buses will be provided among the town square, the park, and other parade locations.

Before the Millstream Park Celebration, be sure to join us on the Town square to honor our veterans at Centreville’s eighth annual Memorial Day Parade, Saturday, May 29th, beginning at noon. After the parade, stroll a few blocks down to Millstream Park (410 S. Liberty Street) to continue the festivities.

There will be lots to do at Millstream Park! Enjoy kids’ activities, music, meeting with friends, food, relaxing in the park itself, or a family picnic, plus a ribbon cutting with local officials to formally inaugurate the new playground equipment. Celebrate our veterans, the treasure that is Millstream Park, and our wonderful Centreville Community.

The Millstream Park revitalization was made possible with a grant from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Community Parks and Playgrounds program, which has facilitated the Town’s investment of more than $140,000 in new playground amenities plus future enhancements to the entrance and trail.
