Troika Gallery Features Plein Air–Easton! Demo by Russian Artist Victor Nizovtsev

Troika Gallery in downtown Easton will host “Fantastic Fantasy Reality,” a free Artist Talk and Demonstration on Saturday, July 21 from 2-5pm during Plein Air–Easton! (July 14-22) in conjunction with the gallery’s exhibit of Nizovtsev’s work during the month of July. During the Artist Talk and Demonstration, the artist will explain and demonstrate his fascinating painting technique and how he works to capture his “fantasy reality.” He will use one color while showing multiple methods to manipulate the pigment on a white panel.

Victor Nizovtsev is a masterful oil painter known for meticulous craftsmanship and brilliantly colored shimmering surfaces. He is also widely recognized for major fanciful and whimsical themes and explorations of harlequins, mermaids, floral still lifes, and angels. Whether from Greek mythology, Russian folklore, childhood impressions, great Masters of the past, routine daily life, or his own imagination, inspiration for his art comes from the realms of the world around him.

Nizovtsev was one of the last to be treated as a child prodigy in his native Russia, where he was classically trained for fourteen years. He learned classical drawing and painting techniques during his school years in the Republic of Moldova and St. Petersburg, where he attended three art schools and graduated with honors. He moved to the United States fifteen years ago and has been represented by Troika Gallery ever since. He is one of the gallery’s consistently top sellers.

Nizovtsev’s education and deep affection for both western civilization and Russian influences have allowed him to develop an unmistakable, universally understood style of visual communication.

Troika Gallery is located at 9 S. Harrison Street in downtown Easton. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10am to 5:30pm, and by appointment on Sunday. The gallery will be open from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, July 22 during the Plein Air–Easton! Sunday Gallery Walk.
