As the current year draws to a close, the United Fund of Talbot County allocated $145,440, the first of three distributions to its 2009-10 participating agencies. Representatives from the Fund’s 21 member agencies were on hand, as well as some of the clients they serve, to celebrate the occasion at the Fund’s sign location on Elliott Road, which measures the current level of contributions received at 65% of the Fund’s $500,000 goal for the year. Despite the slow economic recovery, the Fund has so far enjoyed a steady flow of contributions to this year’s appeal, and remains optimistic that year-end gifts not yet received will help achieve the campaign’s objective. The 2009-2010 UFTC participating agencies are: American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula; BAAM (Building African American Minds); Boy Scouts in Talbot County; CASA of Talbot County; Channel Marker; Character Counts!; Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers; Delmarva Community Services; Epilepsy Association of the Eastern Shore; For All Seasons; Girl Scouts of Talbot County; Mental Health Association in Talbot County; Mid Shore Community Mediation; Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence; Mid-Shore Pro Bono; Neighborhood Service Center; St. Martin’s Ministries; St. Michaels Community Center; Talbot Mentors; Talbot Special Riders; Upper Shore Aging.
