Bill Peak to Host Poetry Discussion at Library
On Monday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, “the library guy” Bill Peak will host a discussion of six poems about children. A copy of the poems to be discussed can be found at www.tcfl.org/poetryaboutchildren, or you can pick up a set at either branch of the library. Author to Discuss National Security at Library
On Thursday, April 25, at 5:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Dr. Melvin Goodman, Senior Fellow at the Center for International Policy and an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University, will discuss his latest book, “National Insecurity: The Cost of American Militarism.” Goodman has authored five books on international relations. In “National Insecurity,” he exposes the inordinate costs involved in current American defense policy, as well as the foreign policy setbacks created by American militarism. Newbery Honor Winning Author To Visit Library
On Friday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, children’s book author Grace Lin will talk about and read from her book “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon,” which was named a Newbery Honor winner. In its review of “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon,” the School Library Journal wrote, “The author’s writing is elegant, and her full-color illustrations are stunning.” This program is sponsored by the Eastern Shore Regional Library.
