Author to Discuss Colonial Smugglers at Library
On Thursday, May 9, at 6:00 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Al Picardi will discusses the life and times of the swashbuckling colonial smugglers who helped foment the American Revolution. In his novel, “Jack’s Favorite,” Picardi tells the story of ordinary people who did extraordinary things. The year was1770 and rebellion smoldered with midnight backwater rendezvous, desperate sea chases, smuggler’s coves, cathouses, press gangs, and waterfront riots. A book signing will follow the presentation. All library programs are free and open to the public. Patrons do not need to pre-register for this program. Library to Offer Needlcraft Progam
On Monday, May 13, at 3:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will once again offer a session of its popular “Stitching Time” program. Patrons are invited to bring their needlecraft projects and enjoy the pleasures of working with a group. Limited instruction will be available for beginners. Talbot County’s Economy: Today & Tomorrow
On Monday, May 13, at 6:00 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Paige Bethke, Director of Talbot County’s Office of Economic Development, will present an analysis of our area’s current economic condition and its prospects for the future. She will also report on a long-term economic development strategic plan currently in the works for Talbot County and its towns. All library programs are free and open to the public. Puppet Show: School’s Out for Summer!
On Tuesday, May 14, at 4:00 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a free puppet show for children of all ages. “School’s Out for the Summer!” is an original production of the library’s own Miss Carla.
