Top Prize Announced in Teen Photo Contest
The Eastern Shore Regional Library has announced that first prize in their teen photo contest will be a state-of-the-art digital camera. Two runners-up will receive Amazon.com gift cards. To enter, residents of Maryland between the ages of 11 and 18 are invited to submit up to five digital photographs that illustrate some of the ways in which “books take you places.” Prospective entrants can pick up a copy of the contest rules at their local library or online at www.esrl.org. Learn to Cartoon at St. Michaels Library
On Monday, July 11, at 5:30 p.m., aspiring artists aged 8 – 80 are invited to attend a special program at the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library on the art of creating cartoons. Artists from PLB Comics will present an illustrated talk and provide hands-on advice to participants as they practice what they’ve learned.
