Learn to “Storyboard”—the First Step in Filmmaking—at the Library
On Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, in partnership with the Chesapeake Film Festival, will offer a workshop in film storyboarding for children ages 8 to 18. All library programs are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required to attend this program. (Note: Program size is limited to 30 attendees, so be sure to sign up soon.) Following the workshop, the Chesapeake Film Festival will screen select films from the 2013 Pendrawgyn Youth Film Festival. The screening is free and open to all ages. Library to Offer Book Discussion on “Traveling with Pomegranates”
On Monday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Pat Bates will lead a discussion of “Traveling with Pomegranates” by Sue Monk Kidd and her daughter, Ann Kidd Taylor. The authors themselves will be appearing at the Avalon Theatre on Friday, October 4, to discuss their book. All library programs are free and open to the public. St. Michaels Library to Offer Free Puppet Show
On Tuesday, September 24, at 4:00 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a free puppet show for children of all ages. The show, entitled “Back to School is Cool,” is a production of the library’s own Miss Carla. Library Speaker to Share Memories of Waterman Larry Simns
On Thursday, September 26, at 6:00 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Robert Rich will present a program entitled “A Watermen’s Hope for the Chesapeake Bay,” which honors and recalls Captain Larry Simns. As founder and long-time president of the Maryland Watermen’s Association, Simns helped bring the problems and concerns of the state’s watermen to the attention of legislators in Annapolis.
