St. Michaels Library to Show “Tangled”
On Monday, June 27, at noon, the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will present a free showing of “Tangled.” Released last year, this Oscar-nominated animated film is rated PG. “Tangled” has been acclaimed as an entertaining and inventive re-telling of the story of Rapunzel and her famous hair. Patrons are invited to bring their lunch and enjoy the movie while they eat. All library programs are free and open to the public. Patrons do not need to pre-register for this program. Children to Explore Greek Myths at Library
On Wednesday, June 29, at 1:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will present a program on Greek myths for children eight and older. In July, “the library guy” Bill Peak will host several book discussions for the same age-group on “The Lightning Thief,” the first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The June 29 program will serve as a good introduction to the acclaimed Percy Jackson books, which are based on Greek mythology. Spanish Crafts and Puppet Show at St. Michaels Library
On Thursday, June 30, at 2:00 p.m., in the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library, there will be a program of Spanish crafts in conjunction with a puppet show entitled, “Richios de oro y los tres osos!” All library programs are free and open to the public, but children do need to be pre-registered for this program. Weekly Story Program for Children at Library
On Thursday mornings, June 30 – July 21, at 10:30 a.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer a program of stories and crafts for children entering grades 1 – 4. The program, “One World, Many Stories,” will be based upon this year’s summer reading program of the same name. Adult Summer Reading Program: “One World … Many Novel Destinations”
As part of their summer reading this year, the Talbot County Free Library invites adults to play “Library Bingo,” the game with great weekly prizes donated by local merchants. At the end of the summer two Grand Prize ‘Staycations’—including overnight stays donated by local innkeepers—will be awarded: one to a winner in Easton and a second to one in St. Michaels! “Library Bingo” begins July 1 and runs through August 31.
