Talk of the Easton processing facility leaving the Eastern Shore of Maryland is heating up again. U.S. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., wants a legitimate study completed on the issue. Mikulski placed a hold on legislation that could send the Easton facility across state lines to Delaware. While Mikulski objects to this legislation, the U.S. Postal Service continues a rushed study to close what the senator says is a needed mail center on the Eastern Shore. The hold by Mikulski was an attempt to insure a fair review process was taking place. Then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., filed a motion to hold a key vote on the postal reform bill as early as next week. That vote will need the support of at least 60 senators.
