Volunteer fire companies in Queen Anne’s County are eligible to hold up to 12 raffles a year under a resolution recently approved by the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners. The commissioners voted 5-0 on December 8 to amend a 1994 resolution that allowed the county to issue no more than three raffle permits a year to an organization. Under the new rule, a county- or municipality-supported volunteer fire company may receive up to 12 raffle permits in one calendar year. Other organizations are still limited to three raffle permits a year.
