Washington College’s dream of a Chester River Campus is closer to reality. Recently, the school bought a 5.4 acre site next to its boat house. The new land will allow WC to expand its waterfront presence by building a new headquarters for one of its schools, an academic center, a public riverwalk and new waterfront dorms. For more than 100 years, the site had been a haven for pollution, including agri-chemical supply facilities and an oil depot. Once those issues are remedied, building can begin.
