Western Tire and Auto, Service with a Personal Touch

By Avra Sullivan

While immediately recognizable from the well-known TV Show, in an area where small businesses are the building blocks of the community it often applies as well. Western Tire and Auto is one of those businesses. Started in 1967 and locally owned by Maurice Sanger and Doby Middleton, this family run business offers not only auto and tire supplies but “everyday maintenance” products and “do it yourself” repair tools for boaters as well. They can help with trailer repair, boat painting supplies and offer a full line of major brand boat products. They also have a “Marine Team” which specializes in boating, so you can always find answers to your questions by people who know and love boats, including Doby’s brother, Kevin Middleton, a licensed Captain. His wife, Linda, also joins the team as the office manager. Committed to quality, their service department, headed by Craig Clendaniel and his son, Brian give over 60 years’ experience. Knowledge is great, but customer service is key. After so long in the area, Doby says his staff “usually knows the face of the customer when they walk through the door.” Great prices don’t hurt either and to celebrate their 45th anniversary, they will be having a week long sale the week of Father’s Day with the lowest prices all year. You can visit the store at 1406 Main Street in Stevensville, or call 410-643-5572. They are also on the web on Facebook and at www.westerntireand auto.com
