Whale Washes Onshore in Ocean City

Ocean City public works employees had their hands full over the weekend after a dead whale washed ashore. The eleven-ton, 31-foot-long humpback carcass washed up on the beach at Fifth Street. Riptides then took the carcass back out into the water, and it later washed up at Third Street. Crews used a tractor, bulldozer and trailer to transport the whale. The carcass was buried in a field at the Ocean City airport.
