Wye Conservatory of Music Prepares for Performance

The Wye Conservatory of Music prepares for their spring performance at the Wye Colonial May Fair, May 4th, at 11 am. Singing in concert will be the programs of the conservatory, the Wye Youth Chorale; grades 4-7, and the Wye Choral Scholars; grades 8-12. The Wye Youth Chorale, led by conservatory Assistant Director, Amy Morgan, will be presenting a selection of fascinating folk songs from around the world. The Wye Choral Scholars, led by conservatory Director, Bonnie Forgacs, will be singing exciting selections from contemporary American composers, such as Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein. Both ensembles meet throughout the academic year, and this year has led them to performances at the Annapolis State House, the Four Winds Performing Arts Center, and the Adkins Arboretum, as well as other venues. The Wye Colonial May Fair is held at Old Wye Church, 14114 Old Wye Mills Rd., Wye Mills, MD. This performance is free, handicap accessible, and held in the wonderfully historic chapel. Other events of the fair include the blessing of the animals, Clydesdale horse and wagon rides, colonial crafts and games, and plenty of great food.
