The Wye Youth Chorale will present a series of holiday performances through the month of December. Performing most recently at the Talbot Hospice’s Festival of Trees, their outings continue this Saturday, December 7th, with a free concert at the State House in Annapolis. The youth chorale will sing at 7:30 pm in the rotunda as part of the annual State House by Candlelight event. There is no admission fee, but photo id required upon entrance. On December 14th, the chorale will host a free holiday concert at the historic Old Wye Church, 14114 Old Wye Mills Road, at 7:00 pm. A festive reception will follow the performance. On both occasions, the choir will be led by Amy Morgan, and accompanied by pianist, Erin Grier. In addition, they will join the Wye parish choir and Wye Choral Scholars on Sunday, December 15th, for a festival of Lessons and Carols; also held at Old Wye Church, 10:00 am. The Wye Youth Chorale is comprised of talented, young students in grades 4-7, from Talbot, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties. They rehearse weekly through the academic year, as a program of the Wye Conservatory of Music, and perform a variety of repertoire in venues on and off the Eastern Shore.
