Yours, Mine and R’s: Local Battle Against Breast Cancer to Benefit AAMC KI Breast Center

The New R’s Americantina, The ShoreSaver, The Update,, Six Degrees Social Media and Joslex Studios have teamed together to sponsor an exciting benefit on October 1, 2011, hosted by the New R’s Americantina in Stevensville, MD.

The Yours, Mine and R’s Extravaganza to benefit AAMC Kent Island Breast Center will be an evening of fun, drinks, food and laughter to “Celebrate the Survivors” and “Support the Diagnosed”. Attendees will dine from a specially prepared menu and will be the first to try R’s new signature “Ta-Ta-Rita”. R’s will then offer the new drink all year long with a portion of the sale of each drink going to AAMC KI Breast Center. Be prepared to “Drink Pink” this night with a choice of cocktails such as Pink Ladies (featuring the local Sloop Betty Vodka) and Chick Beer, (developed on Maryland’s Eastern Shore). All specials are honoring October as the nationally designated “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”.

A line-up of Local Guest Bartenders will entertain and take your drink orders as you mingle, chat with friends, check out and bid on the fabulous Silent Auction items, dine on the delicious food and enjoy the music provided by local favorites “Cuzzin Mark and Sean”. Feel free to tip your “Guest Bartenders” well as all of their tips will be donated to the AAMC Kent Island Breast Center.

Admission is FREE to this great community event! Doors will open at 5:00 pm. The Silent Auction will take place at 8:00 pm, so you will have plenty of time to bid on all the wonderful items that have been donated by local businesses to benefit our local community.

Every three minutes in the US, a person is diagnosed with breast cancer. Early detection saves lives. There is a 95% survival rate when breast cancer is detected early. 80% of all women with breast cancer have NO family history of the disease. Don’t miss your chance to celebrate the survivors and support the diagnosed in our local battle against breast cancer. What better way to fight along with our community, than to spend an evening together for some fun? Good food, good drinks, good times!

Proceeds from the event will go to one of our local jewels, the AAMC Kent Island Breast Center, to help pay for services for Queen Anne County residents with breast cancer. Services typically include wigs, prosthesis, insurance supplements, and transportation for treatments. The AAMC Breast Center is nationally recognized for its outstanding care, research and comprehensive programs. It has received the highest honor from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, which noted that its comprehensive services significantly exceed standards.
