ZOOmobile To Visit Library

Queen Anne’s County Free Library welcomes the ZOOmobile from the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore on Tuesday, February 14, at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. at the Kent Island Branch and on Thursday, February 16, at 2:30 and 3:15 p.m. at the Centreville Branch.

“ABC Mystery” is a 30-minute show for children from ages 2-5 with an adult. Children will learn about animals while practicing the alphabet in an interactive program featuring 3 or 4 live Animal Ambassadors.

Which animals will visit remains a surprise until the day of the event. “When the ZOOmobile traveled here last winter, they brought along a penguin, a hare, and a tortoise,” recalls children’s librarian Julie Ranelli.

ZOOmobile programs align with the Maryland Model for School Readiness.

The program is free of charge and made possible by a grant from PNC Grow Up Great. Registration opened on January 17 at the Kent Island Branch with a limit of 35 children per show. Please call (410) 643-8161 to register. No registration is required at the Centreville Branch.
