Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts presents art by Terrence Wolf, Steve Bleinberger and Brian Draper for its November Benefit Show. Each of these artists brings unique expression to the show by virtue of his chosen medium.  There will be a public reception on Friday, November 7th from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville, Maryland.

Brian Draper attended the Academy of Arts in Easton in his youth and developed a unique style at an early age. He is a graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School, and attended the Corcoran School of Art. When not working in his family’s local business in Centreville, he is a full-time artist who accepts commission work and regularly exhibits in the mid-shore region. He also designs and paints sets for the Church Hill Theatre and recently served as their Board President.  His work ranges from highly detailed imaginative graphite drawings to delicate landscape sketches in graphite and gouache reminiscent of 19th century European landscape sketches.

Steve Bleinberger is a Maryland watercolorist. A winner of numerous creative awards and honors, as well as inclusion in nationally juried exhibitions, he is especially known and respected for his depictions of Chesapeake Bay waterscapes. Steve’s affinity for the Chesapeake as subject for his art was nurtured while growing up by the water off the shores of Thomas Point, within sight and sound of its iconic lighthouse. He conducts watercolor workshops and demos and judges creative competitions. He holds a BFA degree from Richmond’s Virginia Commonwealth University.

At an early age Terry Wolf became aware of painting as a way to express his interest in his surroundings and the people in his life.  Terry works in the ancient medium of egg tempera to explore contrasts of light and dark, textures and color.  Wolf studied at the Taylor School of Art, the Delaware Art Museum with Henry Peacock, and the Barnes Foundation, Merion, PA.   He is a member of the Society of Tempera Painters.  Wolf paints on the Eastern Shore in winter and in Tenants Harbor, Maine, in the summer, finding “there is a sameness in both places in the wildness, calmness, and appeal to the senses.” His subjects range from landscapes and seascapes to man in nature and female figure studies.

The exhibition begins November 7th and will run through December 3rd.  Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts is located at 206 S. Commerce St., Centreville, MD.   Gallery Hours are Tues – Fri 10-3 and Sat 10-noon.     Receive discounts on events and classes by signing up for a yearly membership now – $25 individual/$35 family.  Visit www.queenannescountyarts.com for more information on upcoming exhibits, events, and classes.
