Louis Costanzo IV-Chamber Member of the Month

In 2022 supporting local businesses is more important than ever. The local Chamber of Commerce is a valuable resource for local businesses, and that is why we are highlighting a different member of the Chamber every month. This month we talked to Louis Costanzo IV, an account executive at Mid-Atlantic Facility Services and the vice chair of the QAC Chamber of Commerce.
For those who don’t know, what is the Chamber of Commerce? The Chamber of Commerce is a regional resource that allows local businesses to reach out and get information in regards to business, community resources, and the
law. The Chamber also helps you learn more about businesses in the community, and the community as a whole. Whether you’re just starting out, or are running a million dollar company, the Chamber has the potential to help your business be its best.
What is your role as vice chair?
I was actually just sworn in… but I do a little bit of everything. I help Linda Friday (the president) and the chair with anything the Chamber needs, including putting on events like our golf tournament. Linda and Tracy Wilson (the vice president) make everything easy.
Could you tell us more about Mid-Atlantic Facility Services?
My father used to work in the mortgage industry. When the 2008 recession started, he wanted to get into another business, and with a family friend founded a janitorial services company. We started out on the Western Shore, but have moved most of our business to the Eastern Shore. One of the things that really sets us apart is our competitive pay. For the last four or five years, we have been paying more than 15 dollars an hour. You get what you pay for,
and we put money into our employees instead of other expenses. It’s really helped in hiring and retaining good people.
How did COVID affect your business?
As an essential business, we were allowed to keep our doors open. Really what we did was take 2020 to digest, figure out where we can be better and update. As the year went on, we started picking up additional business, and sales actually went up that year.
