Retired QAC Teacher McNeil Now on School Board

Governor O’Malley has filled the open position on the Queen Anne’s County School Board. Former QAC teacher Fred McNeil, who worked for the Queen Anne’s County Board of Education for 27 years, will take the seat of Faye Lister, who died on December 8. Lister was elected in 2008 as at-large board member for a six-year term; McNeil will serve until the end of her term. McNeil retired in November 2009 after serving as director of public relations, ombudsman, director of adult education, and producer of QAC TV 7 educational programs. He also taught health education and earth science to county students in grades K through 12. McNeil will likely be sworn in before the next board meeting on March 3.
